New Racket Technologies 2018 FAQ

Truth is, these two rackets are new racket models which incorporate bleeding edge technology from Li-Ning. Zhang Nan competed with the Aeronaut 7000, whilst Chen Long, with the 3D Calibar 900.

Further to that, we received more questions with regards to the new rackets. The most popular question being – Why do the new rackets look similar to the old rackets?

One example is Li Junhui's racket (Turbo Charging 70I) used during the World Championships which looks similar to the N7-II Light, which inspired the writing of this article.

Why do some new racquets look the same as the older rackets, but with a different name? What does this new naming system mean?

Leveraging on aerodynamic principles, Li-Ning built an innovative trapezoidal frame construction that energises the player with extra strong swing speed and fast reaction time.

Ideal for quick players with rapid attack and strong defensive skills

3D Calibar
Features a high tech geometric frame design that reduces air resistance. It produces faster swing speeds for bigger smashes.

Aeronaut
